MPC Workshop, Istanbul, Turkey 20 – 21 March 2014

The Viajeo Plus project organized a workshop in cooperation with UNIMED taking place in Istanbul, Turkey on 20 and 21 March 2014.

The initiative meets one of the two topics developed in the framework of the project, namely to create a way for cooperating with the Mediterranean Partner Countries.

The output of the workshop will be used to pave the way for building capacities for future research cooperation with MPCs in urban mobility, particularly in innovative public transport, sustainable urban logistics and enabling transport infrastructure to support green and innovative urban mobility.

10:30- 12:00 Visiting Metrobus Kağıthane Operation Centre– Welcome and Introduction by Mr. Fatih CanitezMetrobus is a 50 km Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route with 45 stations using dedicated bus lanes for much of the route.
12:00 Onward From Zeytinburnu Metro Station to visit Marmaray Project (Bosporus Railway Tunnel)Marmaray Project (Bosporus Railway Tunnel) was opened officially in October 2013 and links the European and Asian parts of Istanbul. With the new route, the journey time between two sites is shortened from 100 minutes to 15 minutes.
